FROM THE ADAM & JOE VAULTS
HEAD ON SHOULDERS & NO ADAM & JOE RADIO NEWS
I suppose I should be starting the new year by posting a brand new clip that takes the net by storm and gets every TV and film executive in the land begging me to take their dirty dollars but that’s just not my style. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got new clips, oh yes, amazing new clips, and if I posted them they WOULD cause a feeding frenzy, I’m just holding on to them until their moment is well and truly past to avoid building any momentum. THAT’S my style.
Speaking of avoiding momentum, Joe and I still don’t know exactly what’s happening about going back on the radio. I know in showbiz it’s bad form to admit this kind of thing, because it makes it looks as if you’re kind of drifting through your career like some kind of ludicrous chancer, which of course WE CERTAINLY AREN’T, but people keep asking me so I thought I should say something honest. I hope we’re back sooner rather than later because I thought we really hit our stride last year. We even came second in a scary internet poll! Anyway, as soon as an agreement has been reached by all parties I’ll let you know.
In the meantime, here’s a thing that Joe and I did about 11 years ago (Jesus, that’s depressing!) We made it for the pilot of The Adam & Joe Show, which was then called Stüffe (pronounced ‘Shtoof’). Although it was one of the funnier things in that otherwise laugh-free pilot we were never able to use it when the show got commissioned because we’d used the audio from a real Head And Shoulders commercial and it was impossible to clear it. In the end we used the same lip-synching idea for an easier to license Clean & Clear ad and a Sunrise Mobility Scooter ad for series 2, but for me, they didn’t work as well as this one. What do you think? Please use both sides of the paper.
