‘BUG’: A MUSIC VIDEO NIGHT @ NFT, THURS, 26th APRIL 2007
I’ll be hosting a new showcase for all that’s smart in music video called ‘Bug’ at the National Film Theatre on London’s fashionable South Bank. You can book tickets here. The night is more or less picking up where the excellent Antenna left off last year so we have big shoes to fill. If you never went to Antenna you should definitely try and come along to this, especially if like me you get over-excited when the worlds of music and ingenious film making collide. There’s so much extraordinary stuff being made that very few people get a chance to see and nights like this are a great reminder of that. As far as my role goes, I’ll just be introducing the videos and occasionally talking to guests but I may try to slip the odd home made nugget in there too once in a while.
Speaking of which, here’s the thing I mentioned last week that made my brother laugh. This was an idea that I had hanging around since last year when I was doing bits for Time Trumpet but I never did anything with it until a couple of weeks ago. In some ways it’s kind of the reverse of Dave Armand’s brilliant Johann Lippowitz mime character and it’s one of those ideas that feels like it’s been done a thousand times but I haven’t seen it done recently. I think I may have to do some more when I get the time. Where would I be without BBC News 24 eh?
