MUSIC VIDEO TALES WITH GARTH JENNINGS
A conversation with my old friend Garth Jennings recorded at Castle Buckles in Norfolk back in 2016.
For the second half of the 1990s and on into the early 2000s Garth was part of Hammer & Tongs, a small production company he formed with art school friends Dominic Leung and Nick Goldsmith. From their little smoky office up a narrow staircase in Soho they masterminded some of the most memorable and best loved music videos from an era that now looks like a golden age for the art form.
Hammer and Tongs made iconic videos for bands including Blur, Supergrass, Pulp, REM and Fatboy Slim and I chatted with Garth about many of them, as well as the work we did with Radiohead around the time of the release of In Rainbows in 2007.
