American director Chris Smith talks about his 1999 documentary 'American Movie', but mainly about his 2017 documentary 'Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond'.

'Jim & Andy' features behind the scenes footage from the set of the 1999 biographical comedy drama 'Man On The Moon', in which Jim Carey played actor/comedian/performance artist Andy Kaufman. Carey stayed in character as Andy Kaufman as well as some of Andy's characters throughout production of the 'Man On The Moon', to the occasional consternation of the film's cast and crew.

This conversation was recorded in Los Angeles in November 2017.
