ADAM IN ‘WHITE RABBIT RED RABBIT’

I’ll be performing White Rabbit Red Rabbit by Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour on Monday 7 September at 7.30pm at London’s Duchess Theatre.

Every night an actor is presented with a sealed envelope containing a script they have never seen before, which they go on to perform only once, with no rehearsal and no director. White Rabbit Red Rabbit was written in 2010 when Nassim was under house arrest in Iran for refusing to be conscripted, and the show apparently weaves themes of authority, censorship, and free will through an experience that is, for actor and audience (according to US critic Gina Napoli), “a cross between a psychological thriller, a double-blind social experiment, and slightly disturbing performance art.”

It could be a night that redefines theatre, or a career ending fiasco. Hope you can come along and find out which!
